Maj, bzy...

Wreszcie jest maj, jeden z najpiekniejszych miesiecy roku:).
W moim ogrodku bez kwitnie jak szalony, wiec podkradlam mu jedna galazke z kwiatkiem, co by troche tego magicznego zapachu przeniesc do wnetrza...
Tak sobie mysle, jeszcze miesiac temu niewiele bylo listkow na drzewach, o kwiatach juz w ogole nie wspominajac, a teraz prosze, jak sie zrobilo zielono i przyjemnie:).

It is finally May, one of the most beautiful months of the year:).
In my small garden the lilac tree is blooming like crazy, so I stole one flower to invite some of its magic fragnance inside the house...
And I am thinking, a month ago there were so few leaves, not to mention any flowers, and now, it is so green and lovely:).

Jeszcze jedna sprawa na dzisiaj, chcialabym podziekowac bardzo za wyroznienie Elisse i Martar:). Jest mi bardzo, bardzo milo:).
Powinnam wybrac teraz 8 ulubionych blogow, ale jak zwykle przy takich okazjach, ciezko byloby mi to zrobic, tak naprawde moje ulubione blogi widnieja na pasku po prawej, nie zawsze zostawiam komentarze, ale lubie i czesto odwiedzam je wszystkie, wiec chcialabym je wszystkie wyroznic:).

Szparagi:)

Jedna z niewatpliwych przyjemnosci zarezerwowanych na okres wiosenny jest sezon szparagowy:). Zajadam sie nimi wtedy az mi sie znudza, a najbardziej lubie je z klasycznym sosem Hollandaise i ziemniakami albo ryba. I taki wlasnie lososiowo-szparagowy obiad bedzie u mnie dzisiaj.

One of the unquestionable pleasures reserved for the spring time is the asparagus season. I eat so many then until I have really had enough, I like them best with a classic Hollandaise sauce and potatoes or fish. And this is exactly the type of salmon-asparagus dinner I have planned for today.

Poduszki

W koncu udalo m sie skonczyc poduszki, ktore zaczelam drutowac w... styczniu. Troche mi zajelo zrobienie ich, no ale coz, tak to jest jak sie pracuje, uczy i jeszcze robi kilka rzeczy na raz dla czystej przyjemnosci w tym samym czasie;).
Ale musze przyznac, ze fajnie mi sie je robilo, choc wiazalo sie to ze zrobieniem na drutach 72 kwadracikow;) (pokazane na samym dole na starszej fotce). Nastepnym razem chyba sprobuje inna technika...
Niewazne, na razie nie planuje kolejnego drutowanego projektu a poduszki ulokowalam zgodnie z planem w sypialni:).

Today I finally managed to finish the cushion covers, which I started to knit in...January. So, it took me a while to complete this project, but oh well, this is what happens when I combine work, studies and also a few other things that I do for pure pleasure at the same time;).

I have to admit, I did enjoy making them, even though it involved knitting 72 little squares;) (shown below). Next time I would like to try another technique, I think...
Nevermind, for the time being I am not planning another knitting project and I placed the finished cushions according to the plan - in the bedroom:).

Na zamku

W ostatni weekend odwiedzili nas znajomi, wiec ponownie wybralam sie do Windsoru (w roli przewodnika robie sie juz coraz lepsza;)) , ale tym razem udalo mi sie zwiedzic tez troche tamtejszy zamek.

Windsorski zamek nie jest jakos super zabytkowy, ma ponad 900 lat, ale przez ten czas przeszedl wiele transformacji, poczawszy od drewnianej budowli wzniesionej przez Wiliama Zdobywce w latach ok. 1070-86 roku, przez liczne ulepszenia i przebudowania (juz w kamieniu) przeprowadzanych przez kolejnych wladcow, do pozaru w 1992 i ekstensywnej renowacji.

Tak czy owak robi niezle wrazenie... Na sporym obszarze (26 akrow) znajduja sie liczne budynki i ogrody, a z zamkowych tarasow, po ktorych z przyjemnoscia sie spaceruje (szczegolnie w taka piekna pogode), roztacza sie piekny widok na pobliskie wiejskie tereny oraz na Eton i plynaca wsrod pol Tamize...

Zamek jest jedna z oficjalnych rezydencji krolowej, czesto mowi sie, ze jej ulubiona. Coz, nie ma sie co dziwic:).

Our friends visited us last weekend and I went to Windsor again (I am getting better and better as a guide;)), but this time I managed to do some sightseeing of the Windsor Castle.

The Castle is not extremely old, throughout its 900-year history its design has changed and evolved, starting with the wooden castle built by William the Conqueror between 1070 to 1086 AD, then undergoing many improvements and renovations (in stone) done by the successive monarchs, until the fire in 1992 and the extensive renovations following it.

Anyway, the Castle is quite impressive... A vast area of 26 acres covers various castle buildings and gardens. And from the terraces, which are a pleasure to walk around (especially when the weather is so nice), there are excellent views of the surrouding countryside, Eton and the River Thames...

Windsor Castle is one of the Queen's three official residences, and is often said to be her favourite. Well, I am not surprised:).

Znalazlam w koncu zyrandol, ktorego szukalam (jak wspomnialam w poprzednim poscie) w... starej, poczciwej Ikei;). Do tego lubianego przeze mnie sklepu mamy bardzo daleko, wiec rzadko sie tam wybieramy, tym razem musielismy pojechac po pare rzeczy i przy okazji przytaszczylismy zyrandol. Nie jest on moze szczytem zyrandolowych marzen;), ale na razie moze byc, i w sumie pasuje nam bardzo do wystroju...
Uff, nareszcie mam normalne swiatlo wieczorem w pokoju dziennym. Mala zmiana ale jaka roznica:).





I found the chandelier that I was looking for (as I mentioned in the previous post) in... old, good Ikea;). I live far from the much-liked store, so don't go there often, but this time we had to go for a few things and dragged the chandelier home with us as well. It is not my dream chandelier;), but for now it is ok, and it really suits the interior...
Phew, finally we have normal light in the evening in the living room. A small change but makes a difference:).
