Inspiracje: fotograficznie, wnetrzarsko...

Juz od dluzszego czasu zachwycam sie zdjeciami Debi Treloar. Pokazane na nich wnetrza sa dokladnie takie jakie lubie: troche bieli, troche koloru, ciekawe polaczenia barw i odcieni, tkanin i mebli, zawsze z duza dbaloscia o detal.
Po prostu przyjemnie popatrzec (tutaj mozecie znalezc wiecej jej zdjec).

Debi fotografuje wylacznie w naturalnym swietle, dzieki czemu wnetrza nabieraja glebi, a swiatlo i cien ukladaja sie miekko na przedmiotach.
Czasem mam ochote przeniesc sie do tego spokojnego, czarownego swiata...

I have been admiring Debi Treloar's photos for a long time. The interiors shown on them are exactly as I like it: a bit of white, a bit of colour, interesting combinations of hues and shades, fabrics and furniture, always with close attention to detail. Just a pleasure to look at (here you can find more of her pictures).

Debi's photos are taken only in natural daylight, which results in interiors gaining depth and light and shadow being softly casted on photographed objects.
Sometimes I would like to transfer into this peaceful, charming world:)...

Naturalnie

Zaopatrzylam sie niedawno w pare drobiazgow ktore widac powyzej. Rozmyslalam sobie powoli o przygotowaniach do Swiat Wielkanocnych (w sensie dekoracyjnym i nie tylko) i przypomnialam sobie jak bardzo lubie proste, naturalne kompozycje i rzeczy... Len, bawelne, szklane naczynia, druciane przedmioty - wszystkie maja w sobie duzo niewymuszonego uroku.

Ale aby nie wprowadzac nikogo w blad;) lubie zarowno naturalne kolory, faktury jak i plamy koloru, czerwien, brzoskwinie, rozne odcienie brazu plus czern, ktora uwazam za idealnego towarzysza dla bieli (obiecuje, ze pokaze pozniej kilka bardziej kolorowych zakatkow w domu, ale to jak juz bedzie co pokazywac...;).

I got these few items recently, I was slowly thinking about preparations for Easter (in decorating sense, but not only) and I remembered how I adore simple, natural designs and things... Linen, cotton, glass vessels, wirework items - they all have lots of unconstrained charm.
But not to mislead anyone;) as much as I like natural colors, textures I also like splashes of colour, dark red, peach, different shades of brown, plus black, which I personally consider a perfect company for white (I promise I will show more colorful parts of the house later when there is actually something to show...;).

Ostatki, faworki i wyscigi nalesnikowe :)

Ostatki w Polsce jak wiadomo lacza sie z robieniem faworkow (mniam, mniam). Tutaj natomiast obchodzony jest Pancake Tuesday (naleśnikowy wtorek), ktory jest okazja do konsupcji naleśników:). Z tym dniem laczy sie tez fajna tradycja nalesnikowych wyscigow - uczestnicy biegna do celu trzymajac w reku patelnie i podrzucajac obracajacy sie w powietrzu nalesnik (okreslona ilosc razy) :).

Ostatki i polskie i angielskie (a wlasciwie obchody tego dnia w niemal calej Europie) maja te same korzenie - sa dniem ostatniej szansy pofolgowania sobie i najedzenia sie tym co nie jest dozwolone w czasie postu. Je sie tego dnia faworki i nalesniki, poniewaz zawieraja jajka, maslo i inne tluszcze, a to podczas Wielkiego Postu bylo zabronione - gospodyni musiala wiec zuzyc tluszcz ktory inaczej by sie zmarnowal.

Tak wiec: faworki czy nalesniki? Dla mnie wybor jest prosty;), zabieram sie za robienie pysznych faworkow:).

Shove Tuesday (Ostatki) in Poland means making faworki (sweet crispy fried pastry in the shape of thin twisted ribbons, deep-fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar) - yum, yum. Here though we have Pancake Tuesday which is a good occasion to eat pancakes:).
On this day there is also a nice tradition of pancake races - the contestants run to the finishing line carrying a frying pan and tossing the pancakes (a certain number of times) as they go :).

Both Ostatki and Shrove Tuesday (as well as this day's celebrations in almost all over Europe) have the same origin - it was the day of the last chance to indulge yourself, and to use up the foods that aren't allowed in Lent. Pancakes and faworki are eaten on this day because they contain eggs, butter and other fats, which were forbidden during Lent - the houswife had to use up the fats which otherwise would go to waste.

So, faworki or pancakes? For me it is an easy choice;), I get down to making delicious faworki:).

Zwiastuny wiosny...? :)

Takie maluchy krokusowe, delikatne i troche niesmialo kwitnace, wypatrzylam w ogrodku przed domem.
Pierwsze wiosenne kwiatki, zwiastuny ze juz niedlugo zrobi sie cieplej, dni beda coraz dluzsze i przyjdzie wiosna (oby jak najszybciej:)).

I found these little crocuses, delicate and blossoming yet a bit shy, in the garden in front of the house.
They are the first spring flowers, they herald warmer weather coming, days getting longer and longer and the arrival of spring (hopefully as soon as possible:)).
