Back home & banana bread:)

Wczoraj wrocilismy z wakacji (zdjecia niedlugo, jak sie rozpakujemy i troche ogarniemy...;).
Bylo cieplo, slonecznie i cudownie:).
Jedno ze wspomnien - bananowy chleb na sniadanie.

Sprobowalam odtworzyc ten przysmak w domu, mielismy w torbie kilka bananow, jeszcze lokalnych, ktorych nie zdazylismy zjesc w samolocie. Dojrzale, az za bardzo, ale podobno takie sa najlepsze:).

Chlebek, a raczej ciasto bananowe, wyszlo bardzo slodkie, zbite, w sam raz do kubka goracej kawy:).

Yesterday we got back from our holidays (pictures to follow soon, after we unpack and settle down a bit...;)
It was so warm, sunny and wonderful:).
One of the memories I brought back - banana bread for breakfast.

I tried to bake it at home, as we had a few bananas, still in a bag, which we didn't manage to eat on the plane. Ripe ones, maybe too ripe even, but they say these are the best for baking:).

The bread, or maybe rather banana cake, turned out very sweet and dense, perfect with a cup of hot coffee:).
Below is the recipe I used.

Krotko mowiac: uwielbiam Toast juz za sam fakt, ze wszystko robione jest w Anglii (w odroznieniu od wszechobecnego "made in China").

I za uroczy kontrolowany chaos, brzmiacy dla mnie tak atrakcyjnie i latwo do osiagniecia - nasz dom jest duzo mniej uporzadkowany od czasu, gdy urzeduje w nim Nadia;). 
Wlasciwie panuje w nim stan permanentnego chaosu, choc niekoniecznie konrolowanego;))).

Niestety ceny raczej zaporowe, rzadko tak naprawde cos tam kupuje, jesli juz to na wyprzedazach...
Ale popatrzec i pomarzyc zawsze mozna , tak?:)

Shorly speaking: I love Toast and the fact that all things are sourced and made in England (no "made in China" here!).

And for the adorable, controlled chaos, which sounds so appealing and easy to achieve for me - our house is much less organized since Nadia is here;).
Actually, we are in a state of permanent chaos, not necessarily controlled;))).
Sadly, the prices are rather high, so I hardly ever buy something there, and even if, it would be on sale.

But it is always ok to look and dream isn't it?:)

While packing a shoebox...

Nieraz gdy kupuje Nadii smakolyki lub siegam w sklepie po kolejna sliczna sukienke, mysle o wielu innych malych dziewczynkach, ktore zyja w mniej pomyslnych warunkach...

Tych, ktore urodzily sie w innych czesciach swiata i prowadza zycie tak odmienne od naszego. Ktore marza nie o kolejnej lalce albo zabawkowym telefonie, ale o tym, co dla nas jest przedmiotami codziennego uzytku...

W naszym kosciele w tym roku bierzemy udzial w "Operacji Boze Narodzenie" (w moim wolnym tlumaczeniu;), pakujemy i wysylamy pudelka z prezentami dla dzieci z odleglych zakatkow swiata. Gdy przygotowuje moje, jedno dla chlopca i jedno dla dziewczynki (a Nadia mi pomaga;) mysle o dziecku w malym afrykanskim panstewku Suazii zastanawiam sie, co najbardziej chcialoby dostac, co sprawiloby pojawienie sie usmiechu na malej twarzyczce...
Bede myslec o tym takze podczas naszych pozniejszych przygotowan do Swiat, aby nie dac sie zwariowac i pamietac o co tak naprawde w tym wszystkim chodzi...

Many times when I buy Nadia sweets or my hand reaches for yet another cute dress for her I get to think of those little girls all over the world who are less fortunate... 
Those who were born in the other regions of the world, who lead life much different to ours. Those who dream not of another doll or mini mobile phone, but of what we would consider as simple necessities... 
In our church we take part in Operation Christmas this year, packing boxes for children all over the world. As I am preparing my boxes - for a boy and a girl, one each (and Nadia is helping me;), I think of a child in far away African country of Swaziland, and try hard to think what he/she would like to get, what would put a smile on a little face... 
I will be also thinking about that as we go ahead with our Christmas preparations this year, trying not to get crazy and remember what is it really all about...
